Seaton House School has a happy, welcoming atmosphere and a long, proud tradition of providing first class teaching and excellent educational opportunities for all pupils. Pastoral care is of the highest calibre and courtesy, good manners and kindness are expected as the norm. Our children are encouraged to develop initiative, independence, confidence and a pride in all that they do.
Our Nursery department, situated in a separate building with a large garden, is open to both boys and girls from the age of 2½ years. We also have our Teddy Tots Time, weekly fun sessions every Wednesday from 2.00pm-3.00pm for pre-nursery aged children from 12 months. From Reception to Year 6 we become an all girls school. Our Nursery was recently judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, who were unable to identify any area needing further development.
In Junior House, our Year 2 Founder’s Scholarship is held every January for entry into Year 3 the following September. This is an academic award and is worth a 50% reduction in school tuition fees from Year 3 to 6
Our Senior girls starting in Year 4 are prepared for various entrance examinations, both in the London Borough of Sutton and for the Common Entrance examination at 11+ required by some independent days schools. Our highly qualified and committed staff create a stimulating learning environment and small classes ensure that all girls have the necessary individual attention and encouragement to achieve the highest standards. Our 11+ and KS2 results are excellent.
The prospectus is available upon request and the Headmistress is always happy to meet parents and arrange for them to look around the school.
